We are located near Veteran’s Expressway and Waters Avenue, north of Tampa International Airport.

Job Purpose:
The PBX-Change Network Field Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing customer installations as well as network PoP installations. This will include following installation instructions and protocol as well as working with the Network Support Team and other co-workers to troubleshoot existing installations in order to diagnose and repair problems.

Job Duties:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following below. Other duties may be assigned.
• Rough in various type of cabling above ceiling, raised floors and/or building floors.
• Dress cables in pathways, work areas, ceilings, down walls, through modular furniture, through risers and cable management systems.
• Install cut-outs, faceplates and termination jacks.
• Terminate and test Cat5E/Cat6 cable with both jacks and/or RJ45 ends.
• Installing cabinets and racks, cabling Ethernet, multimode Fiber/single mode Fiber, laying conduit, low voltage power, cable pulling, drilling anchors, installing SFP modules, circuit breakers, and labeling cables.
• Testing Fiber continuity.
• Installing ground bus, earth grounds, and network equipment.
• Installing antenna masts, mounting brackets and fixed wireless radios.
• Installing routers, switches, access points and IP phones.

Required Skills / Knowledge:
• Basic knowledge in network topics: Ethernet, IP, networking, switches, access points, IP phones and routers.
• Basic knowledge of provisioning, implementation, and documentation of network configurations.
• Must be able to work in various buildings with confined spaces and at heights with ladders.
• Demonstrate knowledge of connector color codes.
• Demonstrate skills in terminating patch panels, wiring blocks, fiber panels, etc.
• Ability to work constructively under stress and pressure in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
• Self-starter who can learn and work quickly and independently while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Ability to consistently produce high quality, on-time, and error-free results in an interrupt-driven environment.
• Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.
• Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Valid Florida driver’s license.

Education / Previous Experience:
• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 + years of operational hands on experience with cabling, network infrastructure or similar materials.

Work Conditions:
• Mix of indoor and outdoor work depending on job/site.
• Physical lifting and moving of equipment and other network related hardware which may exceed 50 lbs.
• Quick paced environment
• Installation of equipment in unconditioned space.
